What is »Endodontics«?

The most modern high-tech dentistry allows higher success in dental treatment. Scientific evidence-based progress in dentistry therefore means: the best dental treatment for patients.

The words »endo« and »odont« are Greek and mean »the inside of the tooth«. Endodontics are engaged in the treatment of the tooth ’s inside.

What is so hard about root-canal treatment?

The root-canal system is comparable to a tree’s root with many little branches. These ramifications are sometimes as thin as a hair. With the usual technique only parts of the main canal are cleaned and shaped during endodontic therapy. Parts of the fine root canal system cannot be reached without the control of the surgical microscope. The result: new disease focuses often develop within weeks and the tooth needs to be extracted.
